PILGRIMAGE WITH MESOPOTAMIA (GROUP)

Day 1 : ISTANBUL

Meeting at the airport and departure to Istanbul. Transfer to hotel : accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : ISTANBUL - ADANA

Breakfast . Visit the city of the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus , the meeting point between Asia and Europe. You visit the Blue Mosque , the Hippodrome , the Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent, Hagia Sophia, the Underground Cistern . Lunch. Visit the Topkapi Palace , the residence of the Ottoman sultans . In the evening transfer to the airport and departure to Adana. Hotel Accommodations: dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : ADANA - GAZIANTEP - URFA

Breakfast . Long stage of transfer to the East of Turkey with a stop for lunch in Gaziantep . Crossing a bridge over the Euphrates River in Mesopotamia you enter . Check Harran and stop in the small village situated near the border with Syria, where Abraham began his journey to the promised land . Arrival in the evening in Urfa , the ancient Edessa crusade. Stop at the Rahman mosque Hal . Hotel Accommodations: dinner and overnight.

Day 4 : URFA - KAHTA - MARAS

Early in the morning , after breakfast , depart for Kahta . Continue by minibus for the trip , about five hours to Nemrut Dagi, 2150 meters high mountain , on whose summit you can admire the remains of the tomb of Antiochus I of Commagene and enjoy expansive views of the valleys. Return to Kahta for lunch. Departure for Maras Kurdish city . Hotel Accommodations: dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : MARAS - DAPHNE - ANTIOCH

Breakfast . Departure for Daphne : lunch. Continue to the nearby Antioch on the Orontes . A witness to the Christian tradition of this city is an ancient church crusade on the cave known as St. Peter, where the first Christians gathered around Paul , Barnabas , Luke and Peter. Visit the museum in Hatay which preserves collections of mosaics and artifacts from ancient Daphne and Antioch. Stop at the old town and hotel accommodation : dinner and overnight.

Day 6 : ANTIOCH - TARSA - URGUP

Breakfast . Drive to Tarsus , the birthplace of Paul 's whose house remains a Roman well identified as the " Well of St. Paul." Stop the Roman arch of Cleopatra and lunch at the waterfalls on the river Cydnus . Continue to the Taurus Mountains and evening arrival to Urgup, Cappadocia. Hotel Accommodations: dinner and overnight.

Day 7: CAPPADOCIA

Day dedicated to this region , home of the Cappadocian Fathers , post Anatolian plateau , one of the most fascinating parts of Turkey for its distinctive lunar landscape , the troglodyte villages and stone churches once inhabited by hermits that enriched with frescoes. Visit the open-air museum of Göreme Valley , Zelve with the forest of giant mushrooms rocky perforated cells and chapels called " fairy chimneys " of the troglodyte villages of Avcilar and Uchisar .
  

Day 8 : URGUP - ANKARA - ISTANBUL

Breakfast . Departure for Ankara, the capital of Turkey , along the vast salt lake. Check after about five hours of travel and lunch. Visit the Hittite museum that documents the development of Anatolian Civilizations in Asia Minor . Transfer to the airport and departure to Istanbul. Hotel Accommodations: dinner and overnight.

Day 9:ISTANBUL

Full board . In the morning boat trip on the Bosphorus and in the afternoon continuation of visits in Istanbul, with a stop at the Grand Bazaar .

Day 10: ISTANBUL

Breakfast . Transfer to the airport for the return
